Liz Hale was originally trained as a fine artist with a B.F.A. in painting from the University of New Mexico, where she was an exhibiting artist in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. After moving to Los Angeles, her first job was with the Woman’s Graphic Center (WGC) at The Woman’s Building the legendary feminist art center.

 

Subsequently she became the art director at Slash Records, a Warner Brothers Records subsidiary, working with recording artists such as L7, Violent Femmes, re-packaging X, the Germs, The Gun Club as well as the complete Slash back catalog.

 

Liz joined the design staff at the
Los Angeles Times, and served
as the deputy art director at the Los Angeles Times Magazine + West Magazine. Liz's reputation as an award winning art director of illustration, resulted in being asked
to be on the jury of the 2008 Communication Arts Illustration Annual.
